The database was launched in July 2023. It contains the laws, regulations and other measures related to sanctions against the DPRK, such as national legislations, measures for national enforcement and international agreements. The data provides information on the current DPRK sanctions regimes, including a short description of imposed measure, date of adoption, classification and link to its original source.
The dataset was curated by Yerim Seo, ONN Research Consultant, and reviewed by independent external experts. The database is updated as of 1 July 2023.
To designate any person that the President determines knowingly engages in, contributes to, assists, sponsors, or provides financial, material, or technological support for, or goods and services in support of, any designated person pursuant to an applicable UNSC resolution, any regulation promulgated under section 404, or any applicable Executive order.
To designate any person that the President determines knowingly sells or transfers to North Korea any significant amounts of rocket, aviation, or jet fuel. Except for use by a civilian passenger aircraft outside the DPRK, exclusively for consumption during its flight to the DPRK or its return flight.
To prohibit correspondent accounts from being used to provide significant financial services indirectly to any person, foreign government, or financial institution designated under section 104. Exception: A US financial institution is authorized to process transfers of funds to or from the DPRK, only if the transfer arises from, and is ordinarily incident and necessary to give effect to, an underlying transaction that has been authorized by a specific or general license issued by the Secretary of the Treasury, and does not involve debiting or crediting a DPRK account.

To additionally designate 4 entities and 14 individuals for asset freeze that are involved in DPRK's nuclear-related, ballistic missile-related or other weapons of mass destruction-related programmes pursuant to UNSCR 2356.

To prohibit the export, import and supply, or transfer of aviation fuel, including aviation gasoline, naptha type jet fuel, kerosene type jet fuel, and kerosene type rocket fuel. Except for the sale of aviation fuel in case the Committee has approved in advance and in case for civilian passenger aircraft to consume during its flight to or from the DPRK.
To prohibit any person that is owned or controlled by a US financial institution and established or maintained outside the US from knowingly engaging in any transaction with the DPRK government or any designated person for the imposition of sanctions described in § 510.201(a)(3)(vii) through (ix) and under an applicable Executive order or an applicable UNSC resolution.
