Abstract
When facing ethical dilemmas in using open source information, one needs tools and methodologies that can assist in making ethically sound decisions. Towards that, this paper provides an overview of a framework to help open source information analysts and practitioners make ethical decisions, and proposes a code of ethics that can assist both nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and verification organizations (VOs) working with open source information.
